Wir bleiben im Folkigen Bereich und haben schon wieder eine Alumni-Band für euch im Gepäck. Die Freibeuter von The Privateer begleiten uns schon seit 2014 auf unserem Festival. Egal ob beim Rum trinken im Piratencamp auf unserem damaligen Campingplatz oder bei eingängigem Piraten-Folk unter aufblasbare Palmen die gegen die Mittagssonne kämpfen. The Privateer gehört einfach zum Sunstorm Festival-Feeling wie die Cola zum Mentos. Wir halten es also für selbstverständlich, dass auch die Rückkehr zum Festivaljubiläum wieder unvergesslich wird. #nopressure
Under the commonly hoisted flag, the crew of „The Privateer“ sails the waters of sunny southwest Germany. Inspired by classical Heavy Metal, as well as modern Death- and a bit of Power metal, doused with a barrel of rum and a pinch of sea salt, they have created their own characteristic sound. Influences from Folk Metal are particularly highlighted by the use of the violin. The varied vocals which alternate between clean vocal, screams and choruses give their sound a special note. With their songs they tell stories of hidden treasures, distant worlds, old nautical lore, and the myths of the sea.
