SUIDAKRA’s Pionierarbeit in der Metalszene ist kaum hoch genug zu bewerten: schon bevor Begriffe wie „Pagan“ salonfähig wurden, spielten und prägten SUIDAKRA diesen Sound. Die einzigartige Mischung aus melodischem Death Metal, traditionellen Heavy Metal-Einflüssen und keltischen Folk-Elementen wurde Inspirationsquelle für ganze Scharen junger Bands. Und SUIDAKRA selbst sollten nach Veröffentlichung ihres letzten Albums „Book Of Dowth“ (2011) feststellen, wie loyal und groß ihre Fanbase mittlerweile ist: Tourneen durch Europa, USA, Indien und China führten die Band um Frontmann Arkadius praktisch einmal um den Globus.

Dass SUIDAKRA einerseits ihren Wuzeln treu sind, aber sich ebenso weiterentwickeln, macht ihr neues Album „Eternal Defiance“ klar. Einerseits wurde mit dem bewährten Team im Gernhart Studio (u.a. Destruction) aufgenommen und auch die Zusammenarbeit mit Tina Stabel (weiblicher Gesang) und Kris Verwimp (Konzeptstory, Coverartwork und Illustrationen) wurde fortgeführt.

Even before terms like „Pagan“ became well known in musical circles, SUIDAKRA had played and evolved that sound, their unique blend of melodic death metal, traditional heavy metal influences and Celtic folk elements a source of inspiration for a whole load of young bands…

SUIDAKRA themselves now soldier on determined to keep fresh, but they should now understand just how determined and huge their loyal fan base is: after the release of their latest album „Book Of Dowth“ (2011), tours in Europe, USA, India and China led the band, centered on front man Arkadius, nearly once around the world, and the band has played to fans in all continents of the earth.
